DXV Design Panel: Where are they now? Marilyn Russell ASID, Orlando Florida

As we get closer and closer to unveiling this year’s DXV Top Secret (be sure to follow #DXVTopSecret on social media channels for hints) we continue to catch up with our design panel from 2014. Today we’ll have a look at what’s new and noteworthy with Marilyn Russell, principal of interior design firm Marilyn Ashley Design Associates and formerly of Design Magnifique, both in Orlando Florida.

Marilyn’s DXV Design Panel project continues to draw a crowd as her work is still being shared on social media platforms all over the world and for good reason.

Marilyn Russell’s “Balanced Bath” for DXV fused masculine colors and architectural element with feminine shapes for a perfectly balanced whole.

Marilyn prides herself in a clean lined, warm contemporary aesthetic that defines her warm and livable spaces.

MARILYN RUSSELL AT ASID AWARDS

Since the launch of DXV’s Design Panel last March, Marilyn’s design practice has soared with her firm, Design Magnifique, winning two ASID design awards: 2nd place for Residential Bath under 3,000 square feet and 1st place for model/show house for her DXV Bathroom.

For a second year in a row, Marilyn also served as just for Highpoint Market’s Bienenstock Library’s annual $5k Interior Design Scholarship competition.

Marilyn then went on to design one of her best projects to date.  Parts of which are pending print publication and cannot yet be revealed. The living room however was recently published in Phillip Jeffries’ 2015 source book.

LUXURY CONDO IN ORLANDO, TRADITIONAL DESIGN WITH MODERN TWIST

A second project in the Orlando area was also just completed and shows Marilyn’s ability to transition between modern, transitional and traditional styles with ease.

Finally, only a few days ago, Marilyn was a guest speaker at Coverings Tile Show in Orlando where she spoke on Universal Design, a topic that is dear to her heart and an important aspect for most professional interior designers.

Marilyn has just launched her new firm, Marilyn Ashley Design Associates and we wish her the best success with this exciting new endeavor.
