The November DXV showroom was designed by Masayuki Sono and Ostap Rudakevych, co-principals of the dynamic architectural firm, CLOUDS AO. Masayuki Sono and Ostap Rudakevych are both renowned architects whose work has been exhibited in museums around the world including MoMA and the Victoria Museum in Austrailia.
CLOUDS AO designed St. Mark's Bookshop in NYC to stimulate visual experience while shopping. The shelving flows throughout the store in a wave-like motion. (http://www.mymodernmet.com/profiles/blogs/list/tag/clouds+architecture+office)
Masayuki Sono gained worldwide acclaim for his winning design of the September 11 memorial in Staten Island, New York.
Their unique exhibition for DXV's Window Series, entitled Unseen Expression, is a continuation of their studies in the relationship between form and vision. Passersby are engaged by a dynamic optical pattern, which is deployed to visually activate the display while creating a sense of mystery and discovery.
The sleek DXV by American Standard fixtures are either revealed or concealed, depending on your vantage point.
This installation, located at 15 West 20th Street in New York City, reflects the eclectic styling of the DXV Contemporary movement that is continually evolving in response to the complexity of our changing world. The highlighted DXV products are the Seagram one-piece elongated toilet whose scaled proportions make a bold impact in small spaces, the simplistically sophisticated Contemporary floor mount bathtub faucet with coordinating hand shower, and the Percy towel bar that portrays a serene, minimalist point of view.
“Clouds can only exist when conditions allow for equilibrium between water saturation and air temperature. We believe the built environment should also achieve a dynamic harmony with its environment.” - CLOUDS AO
