Delicate Porcelain Artworks by Valeria Nascimento

+

Brazilian ceramic artist Valeria Nascimento, represented by Woolff Gallery, has introduced a new line of playful wall installments. ‘Elements’ is a collection of works that developed from found fragments of nature”, according to the artist. Have a look.

It is remarkable to think that the Black Anemone is made from porcelain. The designs are meant to be wall mounted and look more like fragile silk petals than ceramic. The creation is inspired by nature and duplicated.”The concept of ‘Multiples’, helps to explore an extensive range of scale to create organic compositions”, describes Nascimento. The collection is indeed wonderfully organic.

Valeria Nascimento grew up in Brazil on a farm and clearly must have been inspired by natural forms. The Cups wall installation shows that influence in the wistful nature of the suspended porcelain. Almost like leaves or flowers swaying in the wind, the design has a lovely blend of mysterious charcoal blue and soft white colors.
We loved this ornate and rather graceful wreath of blooming porcelain pieces. The varying sizes of each individual piece create a playful movement of shadows and soft white porcelain cups. Simply lovely.
