She brings you… the passion and insights of a well-rounded designer. She has fabricated counter tops, installed tile and hardwood, specified window treatments, wallpaper and paint. Three years ago she branched out into bathroom design because “I was looking for new challenges.”
She can help you… by asking lots of open-ended questions and actively listening to help establish a budget and understand the design and overall concept you’re trying to achieve.
She advises… “There’s a faucet, trim and fixture that will resonate with everyone’s taste level. Don’t be discouraged by price points.”
She enjoys… navigating you through the selection process and making suggestions you perhaps hadn’t thought of.
She loves… the DXV Contemporary Movement. “Although I’m a mid-century junkie… my whole house is designed that way… I really like the sleekness of the contemporary collection. For me it’s the most innovative collection DXV has. Everything from wall mounted toilets, double lavatory wall mount porcelain sinks to the freestanding tubs. I particularly like the Rem joystick faucet and the Seagram wall-hung toilet. Yes, a toilet is my favorite! I’m hopeful I can keep engaging homeowners with the versatility and benefits of this flexible commode.”
She understands… the hardest thing about doing a bath is coordinating material and trades. This is why she believes plumbing showrooms like Rampart are so important. “Together we help you not only make selections, but also determine realistic time frames for your project. Long term, a one-stop shopping experience is the most stress free.”
She warns people… not to buy on price alone. “Function over price is something I talk about on a daily basis. Buying fixtures online is intimidating and people can make a mistake. What if something goes wrong? There is value to the service we bring in a showroom.”
She goes beyond… fixture selection to help with the design of the entire bath, since Rampart offers cabinetry, showers, counter tops and more.
She thrives on… the fun of different, unusual and unexpected, yet beautiful projects. “When I can open up people to thermostatic valves, concealed trap way toilets and freestanding tubs, it’s exciting. I want to put my stamp on those designs and have your friends and family says, ‘Where did you get that?’”
She recommends… warm metal tones like Carbon Bronze, Matte Black and Brushed Brass that are up-trending now. Also, “removing those 60x60 inch corner bathtubs we all thought we needed but rarely used, and replacing them with sleek 60-66 inch freestanding tubs. Farmhouse sinks are now a monthly conversation due to design trends and DXV has some of the most affordable fireclay options available.”
She’s also passionate about… renting chickens from May to October. “It was a fun and nostalgic experience for me since I grew up on a farm. The girls, Bonita & Penny, brought me hours of joy and delicious eggs too!”
